Carborundum is a collagraph printmaking method using a mixture of paint and grit to create textured, painterly printing plates. The plate is then prepared with non-toxic oil-based inks and printed on damp paper using a traditional etching press.
Untitled is a unique print, created by Isabel Wilkinson in her London studio, with several layers of monoprint and carborundum. The surface of the paper is subtly embossed and textured from the printing process.
This print is taken from the series The Long Shadow, inspired by the symbolism of the tarot.
